Dementia Care

About Dementia Care

At Park Care Centre / Sorgsentrum, our secure Dementia Care unit provides compassionate, specialised support for residents living with all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s Disease, Vascular, Lewy Body, Frontotemporal, and Mixed Dementias.

Our dementia care environment is designed to be safe, protective, and non-judgemental, prioritising dignity, acceptance, and a sense of belonging. Residents are supported with kindness, patience, and understanding, allowing for wide tolerance of behavioural changes while preserving self-respect and emotional comfort.

Care is delivered by a highly trained and experienced team, providing comprehensive 24/7 nursing support through individualised care plans. Residents receive assistance with all daily living activities they can no longer manage safely or independently, including personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, meals, toileting, and incontinence care.

Medication administration and symptom management are carefully managed according to medical prescriptions, alongside regular health monitoring. Because residents may be unable to communicate changes themselves, close observation allows staff to respond promptly and appropriately.

Our secure unit features monitored access and exits, controlled visitor arrangements where required, and flexible visiting options that encourage family connection in comfortable, welcoming spaces. The environment is thoughtfully designed with uncluttered areas, high supervision, and freedom of movement where safely possible.

Residents have access to Medical Doctor visits as needed, as well as optional supportive therapies arranged privately, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech or swallowing therapy, and biokinetics.

Structured routines provide reassurance and reduce confusion, while inclusive activities such as music, movement, art, drumming, and social gatherings bring enjoyment, stimulation, and meaningful connection to daily life.

Emotional, social, and spiritual support is available to residents and families, supported by social work services and ongoing communication to ensure families remain informed, involved, and supported throughout the care journey.

All dementia care services are delivered in full compliance with national health regulations, professional care standards, and recognised best practice in dementia care.
